Editorial Policy

Harlow Expert aims to be confident and explanatory. We use plain English, translate local choices into simple next steps and distinguish confirmed facts from details readers should check.

What we cover

We publish guides to local businesses, restaurants, shopping, leisure activities, attractions and everyday services. Our pages are designed to help residents and visitors understand the options available and make informed decisions.

Harlow and its different places

Harlow is a planned New Town in Essex. Old Harlow is the historic settlement that predates it and has its own high street and village character. The central Water Gardens, The Harvey Centre and bus station are distinct from local centres such as Staple Tye, The Stow and Bush Fair. Church Langley and Newhall are newer residential developments; Great Parndon, Little Parndon, Mark Hall and Netteswell are other distinct neighbourhoods.

Roydon is a separate village west of Harlow. Gilston lies north of town across the Essex–Hertfordshire county boundary. We include neighbouring places only when the guide’s geographic scope supports it and avoid presenting them as Harlow neighbourhoods. Harlow Town and Harlow Mill are separate railway stations serving different parts of town. We use current rail and bus information for journey advice and avoid unverified journey times.

Harlow Council and Essex County Council have different responsibilities. Princess Alexandra Hospital is a healthcare provider, not a council service. When directing readers to an authority or service, we identify the responsible organisation and encourage confirmation of current contact, eligibility and appointment details.

Sources and checks

Where practical, we use sources close to the subject, such as a business’s own information, Harlow Council, Essex County Council, venue and organiser pages, transport operators and relevant public bodies. Opening hours, tenant lists, market arrangements, prices, course availability, park facilities, hospital services and event schedules can change. We check current details where feasible and encourage readers to verify information directly before acting on it.

We do not invent businesses, ratings, testimonials, prices, opening hours, event dates or service coverage. We do not imply that a business is in Harlow simply because it serves customers here. Proposed developments are not described as completed, and historic technology or public-art associations are not presented as proof of current commercial leadership. We avoid unsupported claims about safety, demographics, health outcomes or property values.

Comparisons and commercial relationships

When comparing options, we explain the relevant differences—such as location, type of service, access or intended use—rather than presenting a universal winner. A listing or recommendation is not automatically paid for or endorsed. Sponsored content or another commercial relationship will be identified clearly on the relevant page.

Corrections

To report a possible error, email [email protected]. Include the page address, the detail in question and a reliable source if possible. We review correction requests and update material errors where appropriate. Minor edits may be made without a separate note; substantial corrections may be identified on the page.

A request does not automatically require removal or amendment. We consider accuracy, relevance, privacy, safety and the public interest. We do not publish private personal information or unverified allegations about individuals.

Scope

Our guides are selective, not a complete directory. Inclusion is not a guarantee of quality, availability or suitability, and absence is not criticism. Confirm important details with the organisation concerned before making a decision.
